Long time no talk.

Well here it is another 4 months has past since we moved to GA and I have done absolutely nothing with the blog. I know that we left I chatted up a storm about "keeping the blog update" and what not... So here is the update on the Sivigliano family and our adventures.

We have settled down quite nicely into Newnan GA. We live in a town that is small but very much like CO. Everyone here is very nice and sweet. The weather here has been fabulous. Back in January we had about 3 days of what they considered a "snow-storm" but was more ice than anything else. This ice storm SHUT DOWN the entire state of GA. I also believe that the state of GA was declared in a state of emergency. When you say to a bunch of Coloradoans that snow is coming, we expect below zero temps and feet of snow. But here in GA, it is maybe 1/2 inch of snow, with 2 inches of solid black ice and temps in the 20's. Tim had a couple of days off from work in which we watched movies, walked to the empty grocery store and hung out! But now at the end of February, we are in the 70's, wearing flip-flops, shorts and laying out in the sun. It is just FABULOUS!

In December, we adopted a new member of the family. His name is Loki. He is a Chihuahua/Terrier Mix. He is super cute and fun. Mackenzie and Enzo just love him. Also that month, we had our first wave of visitors. Both the Einfalt's and Sivigliano came to visit us. We had a wonderful time celebrating Mackenzie's birthday with family.

Tim's work has been keeping him busy. He went to CA back at the end of January for some work and has been working now stop since. He works between 45-50 hours each week. I have also since started back into school into my Master's Program. In approximately 2 years I will have my MBA in Human Resource Management.

Kenzie is keeping herself busy with toys, reading and enjoy life. Oh the life of a toddler. We have potty trained her (in about a week!). And that has made life so much easier. We are currently trying to get her into a pre-k program here. GA has an awesome lottery funded pre-k program at several schools and day care centers around our area. The downfall: it is extremely hard to get into. But we have her on several waiting lists to start ASAP. But I have already secured her a spot for this coming fall.

Another bit of new information (new as within the last 2 weeks!) ... We are expecting baby #2 (again). I am sure most of you know about my medical issues that have led to 2 previous miscarriages. So with all the new information we have, we can take the necessary precautions to avoid it this time around. I am about 5 weeks along and due at the end of October. I will be meeting with a special high-risk doctor that will probably prescribe a daily blood thinner as well as extra folic acid regime. I hope to have an ultrasound within the next few weeks to post pictures.

Well ... that is enough typing for the day. My hands and wrists are tired, so I will just post some pictures of our adventures. Thanks for reading and enjoy! I promise to try keeping up on the blog... With a energetic toddler, school and dogs, it is hard! But I will do my best!!

Home Sweet Home

Well after 2.5 days on the road, 1442.7 miles later, we have finally made it to Newnan GA. The car ride went great for having a car-sick prone dog and a 3-year old. Thanks to science, Enzo remained calm through out the entire trip. Kenzie also did a wonderful job of keeping herself busy with movies, toys, coloring books, and other mind entertaining activities.

Tim and I took turns at the wheel. All I can say about the trip is Kansas is boring, the Gateway Arch is pretty darn cool, Nashville was smoggy, Chattanooga was HORRIBLE, and I am so grateful to be home!

I have attached some pictures of our trip to give you an "overview" of how the drive went..Apartment photos to come shortly!

Write more later when I am not so exhausted!

Update...

Ok... I guess looking back at the last date that I posted A LOT has happened to our family...So in "Melissa" fashion...I will just create a list so that you can catch up with what has happened...I will start after the last posting in April 2009

-April 2009: We found out that we were pregnant with a second child.

-August 2009: I miscarried well into my second trimester. Spend a night in the ICU after losing over a liter of blood. I required several blood transfusions..Thanks to those who donate A+ blood!!
-During the same month, I also found out that I am a carrier of a blood disorder- This is the cause of what is now 2 miscarriages.

Between August and January, we had a slightly "calm" life...

-January 2010: My mom was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She spent MONTHS in the hospital.

-April 2010: My mom received of a bone marrow transfusion. T

-May 2010: I organized and successfully raised over $5000 for my parents in a fundraiser dinner and silent auction

-July 2010: I finished my Bachelors Degree..I know have a B.S. in Business/Marketing

-July 2010: Tim lost his job at GlobeImmune after 2 years.

-August 2010: Tim got another job with Dendreon. A company in Atlanta GA

Ok ... So, that is our life since the last posting. Or as much as I could remember at this particular moment.

As we begin our new chapter in life, I hope to continue with this blog to keep those who we are far from. But if you ever feel like you want a faster response, please email me!!

It has been a while....

Ok, so it has been well over a month since I have been on here to post anything new...But here I am to update everyone on our busy lives!
Tim's work has decided that four 10-hour shifts are better then the five day a week gig...So he has Friday's off which makes the week go by so much faster! Plus we get to spend more time with him, which is awesome! This will be great when I go back to work on May 1st.
I recently applied for a position with a travel agency as an admin/marketing assistant. After 3 weeks and many interviews, I finally was offered the position. It was originally full-time but after some changes with other employees at the office, the position is part-time. Which works out great with me and getting back into the flow of working. It also is a nice transition for Mackenzie back into daycare. Since I would be working Mon-Wed-Fri, she will only have to be at daycare on Mon-Wed!!
Spring is finally here which mean a muddy backyard. I am currently in progress fixing the backyard...Weeding and preparing the yard to lay down new grass! With the help of our landlord, we will hopefully have a nice backyard of grass instead of weeds by the end of the summer!
We have been having a hoorible problem with the birds this season as well. They have decided to lay nests in parts of the garage port, and in nooks in the roof of the house. So we had to knock out the nests and board up the holes. But little did we know, that the birds would just find somewhere else to build nests....In the back yard, in the support beams of the patio cover. The last place I expected them to build nests because of the dogs..But they have! They can build nests in about two hours..Amazing!
But other then the birds, starting a new job...Everything is still the same! School, work and Mackenzie growing more then ever! Learning new words and capable of speaking her mind!
I will attach some pictures that can give that visual experience of our lives! I hope to continue to update this often!
Peace >

Weekend is finally over!

We had a busy weekend, with Tim's cousin and his family in town this weekend made for a long, picture extravaganza! Tim's cousin and his family came out from Florida to visit with family. They have also a two year old girl named Gaby. So we decided to take them to the Butterfly Pavilion to see all the beautiful butterflies! It was a wonderful time seeing all the amazing butterflies and watching the two girls interact with each other and react to the butterflies.
Tim and Gaby both caught butterflies in their hair! Kenzie on the other hand would freak out every time a butterfly came near her, but still enjoyed seeing the fish and turtles!
Then afterwards we headed over to a eating extravaganza and some picture taking. Anthony joined us at dinner and it became more like a play center with three two year olds running around! Eventually, Mackenzie decided she was tired and wanted to lay down. So she ended up on the couch and hung out there for the rest of the night.
It was nice to see Tim's cousin and his beautiful family. We are excited to have a slow week...Enjoy!

Dancing anyone?!

So I am going to post a really awesome video of Mackenzie doing the dancy dance! If you don't know what that is well then let me give you some brief history. Mackenzie loves to watch Yo Gabba Gabba...They have a 3 minutes session devoted to dancing crazy. They were doing the "Burrowing Cat" and Mackenzie felt like she had to join in...So please enjoy the "Burrowing Cat"

This is just a bit of the things that Mackenzie loves to do. It is pretty amazing to see her develop a personality of her own. She is the energizer bunny without the cute ears...Or I guess you could consider her crazy hair due the ears?!
Things have been absolutely calm here....Haha! Just kidding, because of her we are consistently thinking of new things to do and go, mind you with one car! Last tuesday I decided to take Mackenzie to the zoo, fun you think?! Well after waiting 10 minutes and not even close to the parking lot, I change my mind and we went to the Children's Museum. That is what I get for wanting to go on the free day at the zoo.
Mackenzie had a blast at the Children's Museum...Lots of room to run and play with. There was nothing she couldn't touch, pick up, lay on and drool on.....She really enjoyed basketball because there was no other kids taking her toys. We are working on sharing our toys at the moment...

Food poisoning

Food poisoning...What an awesome way to start off an conversation right? We have all had it at least once in our life-time...if not, then you are one of the lucky individuals. I will spare you the details but what I won't spare you of is that Tim, Mackenzie and I all got it at the same time!
While it may seem like fun and dandy hanging out at home in your pj's all the day...the constant trips and inability to make food for yourself let alone your 2 year old daughter don't make it the best days of your life.
After three days of absolute terror, we have finally gotten over food poisoning...Hopefully we will never have it again.
Our lives are pretty simple here in Erie. Tim goes to work everyday while I stay home and entertain the child! While I am actively looking for a job, I am enjoying my time with Mackenzie at home. Now that the weather is getting better, we are able to travel around Erie and play in the parks and meet other children. It is a small little town, similar to Gunnison. So it is just within our box!
As the weather continues to get nicer, Tim will be able to ride his motorcycle more and that way I can have the car to venture out into the get outdoors with Mackenzie!
Some more news, Mackenzie had her first big fall the other day. While I was preparing myself for a night out on the town with some girlfriends, she decided she wanted to watch me. So she climbed onto the toilet (seat down!) like always but this time managed to fall and slam her face into the toilet paper holder. Needless to say before I could catch her she had put an awesome cut on her face, missing her right eye. Thankfully she is a trooper and the cut was not deep enough to require stitches. After the fall, the only think she said was "I am sorry Mommy!" What a cutie we have!
I will attach photos so you can see how lovely she looks (look up above!). The morning after produced no black eye, thankfully! Well I wish I could say that this would be her first and last fall but that would be a lie. She is a product of Tim and I which means cuts, bruises and possibly broken limbs are in our future!
Well I think I have typed all I could think of for today...So I hope you all enjoyed my rambling and look forward to hearing from everyone in the near future!
Peace out!
